HOW TO FIND THE HOSTEL

IMPORTANT NOTE: Buy a ticket for transport when entering Prague and coming to the hostel. Tickets are good for one continuous trip, but only one (see PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN PRAGUE, below). Destination information is displayed at all Metros, trams and buses, on the platform. If you inadvertently go in the wrong direction, don't panic. Simply get off and take transport in the opposite direction. Tickets are still good for the single trip.

From the RUZYNE AIRPORT

Take #119 bus to its end-point, Metro Dejvická. Take LINE A and ride 4 stops to Muzeum, change to LINE C“ and ride 1 stop to I. P. Pavlova.

From CENTRAL BUS STATION FLORENC

Take LINE C for 3 Metro stops to I. P. Pavlova.

From CENTRAL RAILWAY STATION HLAVNI NADRAZI

Take metro line C and ride 2 stops to I. P. Pavlova.

From TRAIN STATION HOLESOVICE

Take Metro LINE C“ and ride 5 stops to I. P. Pavlova.

From I.P. Pavlova. Exit from the station at the first escalator to the street. At street level, take the first street on the right (Lublanska) and walk down it for about 5 minutes, turning left on Wenzigova Street, where hostel Budec is located.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN PRAGUE AND HOW TO USE IT WITHOUT PROBLEMS:

Operators are not equipped (nor allowed) to take fares directly from passengers. Tickets must be purchased and time-stamped at convenient machines located on buses and trams (yellow box) and at the entrance to Metro escalators.

DO NOT RIDE WITHOUT A TICKET. Random on-board checks are carried out by inspectors who can (and will) levy a very heavy fine on the spot. They are attracted to those speaking a foreign language, studying maps or generally looking confused--because that's where the money is--you and your companion. A 500 or 1000 crown fine (each) can make a large hole in a travel budget and ruin your Prague experience.

Tickets for trams and buses are available at most Tabaks (cigarette and magazine shops). Metro entrances have coin machines. The same ticket is good for all transport, but only for a single trip.
